Jacqueline Paine

Obituary of Jacqueline Sue Paine

This past Saturday, June 10th, Jacqueline Sue Paine, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away at age 77, following a brief illness. She will be dearly missed, however, we celebrate in her reunion with those family members that preceded her.

She was born on September 16, 1945 in Randolph, Nebraska as the youngest of five children to John and Irene Kelsch.

She attended high school at St. Francis Catholic School and graduated from Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in education.

During her summertime breaks, Sue worked with her parents at their resort in Waubay, South Dakota, where she developed her love for swimming.

Sue met and married Ronald Paine of Kearney, Nebraska in 1967 while in college. Together they pursued Ron’s military aviation career, taking them to several stops throughout the country. Sue was committed to supporting Ron’s career while raising their two children, Brett and Kimberly. They ultimately settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado to raise their family after Ron’s retirement.

Over the years, Sue enjoyed gardening, bowling, bird-watching and her beloved dog companions. Sue loved family gatherings and embraced being the life of the party! We are forever grateful for having her in our lives and will treasure her memory in our hearts.

Preceding her in passing are her parents, John and Irene Kelsch; brother, Rudy Kelsch; and sister, Reva Jean Gartner.

Sue is survived by her son, Brett Paine; and daughter, Kimberly Paine of Castle Rock, Colorado; her loving grandson, Brayden; her siblings include Marian Gubbels of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Rick Kelsch of Dallas Fort Worth, Texas.

There will be no services at this time.
